Norgen Biotek, a product-focused and innovative Canadian biotechnology company dedicated to developing powerful tools for nucleic acid and protein purification, today announced the expansion of its nucleic acid line of purification products by launching three new kits: the Milk Bacterial DNA Isolation Kit, the Saliva DNA Isolation Kit, and the Urine Bacteria DNA Isolation Kit. Norgen's Saliva DNA Isolation Kit allows for the rapid isolation of high quality genomic DNA from up to 1 mL of saliva. The Milk Bacterial and Urine Bacteria DNA Isolation Kits can be characterized by their sensitivity, simplicity and speed. High quality DNA can be isolated from as little as 10 bacterial cells present in 1 mL of these body fluids in only a few minutes. With the addition of these new kits, Norgen now offers an extensive range of products for genomics and proteomics research applications. Efficient isolation of bacterial DNA from body fluids such as urine and milk, as well as genomic DNA from saliva, is a key
first step in improving sensitivity and specificity for detection and analysis. These kits have been designed and optimized to specifically isolate DNA from these particular fluids as they present unique challenges during sample preparation.
